Established in 1996 by Barung Landcare, the Maleny Wood Expo promotes the sustainable use of our beautiful timbers through the work of local and regional wood artisans. The Maleny Wood Expo is now recognised as one of the best wood shows in Australia, and has been bringing wholesome, family-friendly fun to the Sunshine Coast Hinterland for over two decades. 2023 marks the 24th year of the Maleny Wood Expo!
Over the long weekend of April 29 - May 1 2023, the Maleny Wood Expo will host a range of fun and immersive activities for all generations to enjoy!
As well as the feature exhibition, the Sunshine Coast Wootha Prize – a prestigious national woodworking competition - there are wood workshops for all ages, kids activities, live music, delicious world food, fine coffee, interactive tool and trade displays and more! You can even take home a freshly milled slab!
Ticket prices
Adult 1 Day: $25
Concessions: $20 (at Gate with relevant I.D.)
Children and youth under 16 free when accompanied by an adult
Adult multi-day pass: $35 (no limit on days, no concession price on multi-day pass)
Please note that some workshops include day or multi-day passes in their price.

Experience the Maleny Wood Expo
The Maleny Wood Expo offers a diverse program of activities, workshops, exhibits, demonstrations and educational talks. There is something for everyone!
The Wood Expo has everything timber, from native tree seedlings, mobile milling and slabs to furniture and sculpture, hand-crafted products by furniture-makers, toy-makers, musical instrument-makers and box-makers, whittlers and carvers, and demonstrations by chainsaw, woodworking tool and equipment experts.

Sponsored by Sunshine Coast Council, the Sunshine Coast Wootha Prize is the feature exhibition at the Maleny Wood Expo.
Showcasing beautiful and sustainably crafted pieces from all over Australia, woodworkers and crafts people are invited to submit pieces into a range of categories including 'Furniture', 'Sculpture' and 'Tiny Treasures'. This year the competition invites entrants to explore the theme 'Dovetails'.
2023 applications are now closed, winners will be announced on the 28th of April .
